Born and raised amidst the vibrant culture of Brazil, my journey into the world of baking began at a tender age. Inspired by the culinary prowess of my Portuguese grandmother, I found myself immersed in the art of crafting delectable homemade cakes and desserts. These early experiences laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for baking.

However, my path took a twist when I relocated to the United States during my teenage years. Despite my initial aspirations in baking, I found myself drawn towards the realm of tourism and event production. Yet, even as I pursued these diverse avenues, my love for baking remained ingrained in my heart.

Throughout my travels and professional endeavors, I was fortunate to encounter an array of tantalizing desserts from around the world. This exposure ignited my creativity and sparked a desire to blend the cherished family recipes I brought with me from Brazil with the refined elegance of globally acclaimed desserts.

Here are a few fun facts about me:

  1. My journey into the world of baking began at the tender age of 10 when I baked my very first cake. It was a simple start to what would become a lifelong passion.

  2. At the age of 17, I took a leap of faith and bought my first travel ticket to the United States with the money I earned from selling truffles and Easter chocolate eggs. Little did I know that this decision would shape the course of my life in unexpected ways.

  3. Despite graduating in Tourism and Linguistics, my career took a different turn as I found myself working with major international production events and concerts. It was an exhilarating experience, but deep down, I knew that my true passion lay elsewhere.

  4. It wasn't until later in life that I rediscovered my love for baking. Despite taking a different path, the allure of creating delicious treats never truly left me. Today, I am grateful to be living out my dream of pursuing a career in baking, inspired by the memories of my childhood and the flavors of my heritage.

  5. The inaugural cake that launched Bettercakes by Claudia into the realm of professional baking was the Truffled Chocolate Ganache with Strawberry Cream.
